How was your 4th of July weekend? Ours was perfect. We saw friends, made ice cream, rode bikes, and watched movies and soccer. Nick made us a new coffee table that is less hazardous for a rapidly-becoming-mobile Joshua, and I, of course, knit.
I am working, slowly, on the Lion Country Afghan. It took me a while to get the hang of intarsia (a technique for knitting with multiple colors at the same time), but now I am in a groove.
It's fun watching the states emerge, and along the way, I am learning some geography. For example, Montana is very, very wide. Knitting across it makes me glad I have never had to drive across it. Also, did you realize that Washington State is the northernmost state in the contiguous U.S.? I always thought it was Maine.
Progress is slow. Each row takes about 45 minutes, and there are 211 rows from top to bottom, so at this rate, I'll be done some time next spring...
