This lovely white phlox is called David, although that name doesn't seem to suit. It should be called candy tuft (sadly, that name belongs to another flower), or marshmallow puff, or similar -- it just looks so fluffy.
It is a great plant for the garden: it proliferates freely, is incredibly hardy (and mildew resistant, important in DC's stuffy summers), and manages to look this lovely even in the midst of a sweltering heat wave. Stay cool, friends!
